HEB Plant Swap
WHEN IS IT? We typically meet the 3rd Saturday of the month under the Hurst Public Library Pavilion. We may have changes in schedule or location due to major holidays, admin availability, or weather but we will post about it in this group.
HOW DOES THIS WORK? This is a super casual, come and go get together. We bring what we want, lay it on the tables, talk about how to care for our plants if people have questions. Some people bring plants they just want to give away. Others will want to discuss and arrange to trade for plants. There are Free Tables for plant giveaways and Trading Tables for Swapping. *At Trading Tables: ALWAYS ASK the person who brought the plants you are interested in what they would prefer to do.
WHO CAN COME? Anyone interested is welcome to drop by. Bring friends! You aren’t required to bring anything to share. We always have more left over than we can handle. Also, if you can't make our events in person, you are welcome to post your plants or what you are looking for in the group page. Kids and pets are welcome! There’s plenty of room for them to play at the event. This is also a great way to get kids interested in gardening.
CAN I BUY OR SELL PLANTS? No, our group and Plant Swap events are for trading *ONLY* There are plenty of other buy-sell plant groups out there if you'd rather sell or acquire plants that way, but our group and Plant Swaps are for money-free plant related exchanges only. Reselling plants after the Swap is also discouraged. WHAT DO I BRING?
Things to share: plants, rootings, cuttings, seeds, pots, fertilizer, hangers, gardening magazines, books, and advice. (Note: You do not need to bring tables - the Hurst Library provides those for us!) Please be sure plants are healthy and pest free. We don’t want to share bugs!
